Glasgow City Football Club ~ On a screen near you soon!

One of Scotland’s most successful sporting sides of 2011 hits our TV screens this Thursday as BBC Alba airs the first episode of its 6 part documentary on Glasgow City FC, the nation’s number one women’s football team.

Following the Scottish Champions at home and abroad in the UEFA Women’s Champions League last season, the TV cameras capture the team and staff on and off the pitch to provide a unique insight into life as a top female football side in a country where the game remains completely unpaid.

The evening of November 14th was a night to remember!

The Sports Council for Glasgow Annual Awards Event was held in St. Andrews in the Sqaure in the heart of the City.

Over 150 people attended this Event, and more than 40 Awards were presented across a number of different categories.

Following the success of the 10th Anniversary of the Glasgow City Cup and on the back of the Innagrual Glasgow Easter Cup, the easter event is now being planned again for 2012

The 10th Anniversary of the Glasgow City Cup took place at the Glasgow Green Football Complex from the 5th - 8th August 2011. In what was a great festival of football over 200 Team participated at the event. Sports Council member club Arsenal BC won the Under 19’s and shown here is Councillor George Redmond presenting the Glasgow City Cup to the Arsenal Captain
