CASHBACK FOR COMMUNITIES: FUNDING FOR YOUTH GROUPS

(SCOTLAND)

Youth projects throughout Scotland have been invited to apply for funding from a £2.5 million pot of cash created from the proceeds of crime. The funding which is being made available through the CashBack for Communities scheme is the first portion of £6.5 million recovered earlier this year from a Russian money launderer with dealings in Scotland, which is now being invested directly back into local communities to provide free diversionary activities for young people. Announcements on use of the remaining funds will be made in coming months.   The scheme, to be

administered by YouthLink Scotland, the national youth work agency, has been allocated £2.5 million to distribute over the next two years to local youth projects in the form of grants up to a maximum of £30,000. Applications will be assessed by one of 32 local assessment panels consisting of local authority representatives (Community Learning and Development and Community Safety in particular); the voluntary sector; and trained young people. Regional surgeries will be scheduled to allow applicants to improve their bids. There are three application deadlines for Round 4. These are the 27th August 2010, the 28th January 2011 and the 16th September 2011.

INTER FAITH YOUTH TRUST

The Inter Faith Youth Trust (Alma Royalton-Kisch Trust) is the only UK charitable trust solely to fund inter faith projects for young people.

The Trust was established to promote the education of children and young people about the religions of the world and funds projects that bring together young people of different faiths to improve collaboration and understanding.

The Grant Programme for Inter Faith Week 2010 has now closed. Information about our Grant Programmes for 2011 will become available in February 2011.

CASH 4 CLUBS

Sport in the community is about local people, local facilities, local groups and organisations working together to provide opportunities to enjoy sport. Betfair and SportsAid recognise the importance of community sport, so Cash 4 Clubs has been set up to facilitate fundraising for community sports clubs throughout the country.

Cash 4 Clubs offers all sports clubs in the UK the chance to win grants ranging from £250 to £1000. It is a simple scheme aimed at giving community clubs a helping hand and provide the opportunity to raise the money they need to invest in their club.
