David Smith of Drumchapel United picked up the ’Club Of The Month Award’ for April 2012 at the Sports Council’s AGM on the evening of the 1st of May.
 
The Sports Council for Glasgow would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners at DECATHLON for thir support and sponsorship of this monthly Award.
 
Drumchapel United received not just a cheque for £50 from the Sports Council, but also a £50 DECATHLON Voucher for their use.
 
Our enhanced ’Club Of The Month’ Award’ is now worth £100 to the winning club. So........ get your entries for the May award in as soon as possible.

Sports Council Chairperson Moira Ord was in attendance and commented that it was great to see so many Clubs and Individuals being recognised at such a prestigious venue

Shown in the photo is Kris Litter from the Scottish Youth FA West Region’s Under 17 Squad receiving the 2nd level accreditation from Councillor George Redmond Chair of Glasgow Life

Kris said that he was delighted that the Region had achieved this recognition and it showed all the good work that was taking place in Youth Football in Glasgow wasn’t going unnoticed

The Sports Council for Glasgow Annual Awards Event was held in St. Andrews in the Sqaure in the heart of the City.

Over 150 people attended this Event, and more than 40 Awards were presented across a number of different categories.
