Information on Hillhead Sports Club  

The clubhouse and grounds of Hillhead sports club ( Glasgow G12 9XP )  are accessed down the lane off Hughenden Road/Hughenden Terrace just to the north of the new flatted development, Devonshire Row.

 

Parking within the grounds is limited - there is a disabled space - and most club patrons park either in Hughenden Road or beyond the mini-roundabout in Hughenden lane.  The Sports Council AGM will be held in the main function suite on the first floor of the clubhouse; there is a passenger lift, situated in the entrance foyer to the clubhouse, to assist those accessing the upper floor of the clubhouse.


 

Timetable and Draft Agenda:

 

6.30 / 7.00pm - registration & light refreshments
7.00 / 7.15pm - Presentation by Gordon MacCormack OBE ~ Special Olympics ~ 'Inclusion In Sport'

7.15 / 7.30pm - Presentation by Adam Best, Domestic Sector Manager - Glasgow 2014 Queen's Baton Relay  

7.30 / 8.30pm - AGM    

All member clubs are entitled to send 1 representative who will have the right to vote on their behalf. Other members can attend in a non voting capacity. A large attendance at the AGM would be appreciated.

 

The following positions on the Management and Executive Committees are available for election at this year's AGM:

  • Chairperson
  • 2 x Vice Chairperson
  • Treasurer
  • 15 members of the Executive Committee

All posts to the Executive Committee are elected for a period of one year, and the Chair person and Vice Chair for a period of two years.

Proposal for AGM:

The Executive Committee of the Sports Council For Glasgow propose that the affiliation fees structure and fess remain the same for 2013/2014 as have been in place for 2012/13

Clubs should review their coaching needs and book courses as early as possible. There may be assistance with funding through Glasgow Life and Clubs in Membership of the Sports Council can also apply for assistance.
